Ink & Switch Dispatch
Ink & Switch is an independent research lab exploring the future of tools for thought. I helped the lab kickstart their monthly newsletter, Ink & Switch Dispatch, to enhance their communication with a broader audience. The newsletter served as a new channel for updates—more regular than longform essays and with more depth than social media posts.
Evolving communications
Ink & Switch wanted to move beyond their mysterious online presence. Previously, the lab's communication relied on occasional posts on X/Twitter and publishing longform essays two or three times a year. The team wanted to expand communication strategies and reach a broader audience. I was brought onboard to help identify areas for improvement.
Crafting the vision
I conducted a mini research project, conversing with the lab director and other researchers at the lab to gather their thoughts and ideas. These discussions provided valuable insights for the newsletter, ultimately distilling everyone's ideas into a clear list of objectives and content goals.
I consolidated all the insights into a detailed document in Notion, which became the reference point for shaping the tone, direction, and content strategy of the newsletter.

Building the framework
I played a key role in establishing the technical and structural foundation for the newsletter. This included setting up the email service (Buttondown) and working closely with the Brand Designer to design and implement an email template and an archive page on the website.
Additionally, I collaborated on curating content for the first three issues of the Ink & Switch Dispatch, ensuring each edition reflected the lab’s evolving voice and vision. Read the first one here.
